Our path towards a lower carbon future
The energy landscape is changing. The regional energy demand is growing and, with it, the need for more sustainable energy sources. At OMV Petrom, we have embarked on a transformation process for a lower carbon future, while staying true to our commitment: providing the reliable energy Romania and South-East Europe need today and tomorrow.
Our Plan
OMV Petrom’s Strategy 2030 outlines our transformation plan for a lower-carbon future. Launched in 2021 and updated in 2024, it contains ambitious targets on our transition to low and zero carbon, on growing regional gas to ensure a smooth transition process and on how we are optimizing our traditional business. With planned investments of ~€11 billion between 2022-2030, it is the largest private investment in Romania’s energy sector, supporting the country’s energy transition and strengthening regional energy security.
