Low-Emission Transportation: Electric Mobility & Sustainable Fuels
We invest in low-carbon solutions, from electric mobility to alternative fuels for heavy transport, to keep you moving.
Mobility is essential to everyday life and we understand both its importance and impact. At OMV Petrom, we are committed to offering sustainable solutions that help decarbonize transportation in Romania and in the region. In our Strategy 2030, we have set ambitious mobility targets.
Driven by these goals and supported by a strong investment, our electric mobility and sustainable fuels projects are making progress and taking us further on our path towards a lower carbon future.

EV charging points
Building the largest regional EV charging network
A robust charging infrastructure is essential for the growth of electric transport. This is why we are investing into expanding our network of charging points from the 1,000 currently operational to 5,000 fast and ultra-fast charging points by 2030.
Our charging points service both light and heavy vehicles and are available across our OMV and Petrom service stations network in the region. With the acquisition of Renovatio, over 400 of our charging points are available in independent locations across Romania. This expansion means access to electric mobility and it supports the transition to sustainable transportation.
Sustainable Fuel Production at Petrobrazi
We are investing €750 mn to build a new production unit at our Petrobrazi refinery. This new unit will deliver low-emission fuels such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). The investment decision was made in 2024 and the SAF/HVO project includes two green hydrogen electrolyzers, with a total capacity of 55 MW.
The sustainable fuels we will produce at Petrobrazi are made from renewable raw materials such as used vegetable oils and animal fats. Through advanced refining processes, they are transformed into fuels with properties similar to conventional kerosene and diesel.
