We invest in expanding our EV charging infrastructure and in SAF/HVO production at Petrobrazi, supported by hydrogen electrolyzers powered by renewable electricity.
Mobility is essential to everyday life and has environmental impacts that need to be addressed. Under Strategy 2030, we have set mobility-related targets, including biofuels production, hydrogen produced by electrolysis powered by renewable electricity and EV charging network expansion. We are developing our electric mobility infrastructure and advancing our SAF/HVO project in Petrobrazi, while continuing to supply fuels and mobility services in Romania and the region.

Expanding the regional EV charging network
Charging infrastructure supports the development of electric transport. We are expanding our EV charging network from approximately 1,500 currently operational points, to around 5,000 charging points by 2030. The network serves light and heavy vehicles and includes charging points available at selected OMV and Petrom service stations and independent locations in Romania, following the acquisition of Renovatio.
SAF/HVO production at Petrobrazi
We are investing €750 mn in a SAF/HVO production unit at Petrobrazi, together with two green hydrogen electrolyzers with a total installed capacity of 55 MW. The investment decision was made in 2024. The SAF/HVO unit is planned to produce up to 250 kt/year of SAF and HVO from eligible renewable feedstocks, such as used vegetable oils and animal fats.
SAF and HVO have properties similar to conventional kerosene and diesel and can be used in relevant transport applications, depending on technical specifications, regulation and customer requirements.
