First two Petrom mobile filling stations opened on A1 motorway, Sibiu-Orăştie section, km 76 S-au deschis primele două benzinarii mobile Petrom pe autostrada A1, segmentul Orăştie-Sibiu, km 76

  • The filling stations were opened in areas leased from the Romanian National Company of Motorways and National Roads (RNCMNR) in July
  • Each station is equipped with a shop area and a filling area with three pumps, with one high speed pump

OMV Petrom, the largest oil and gas producer in South-Eastern Europe, has opened the first two mobile filling stations on A1 motorway, Oraştie-Sibiu segment, at kilometer 76. The filling stations are operated under the Petrom brand.

The stations were opened in service areas which were leased from the Romanian National Company of Motorways and National Roads (RNCMNR) beginning of July. The first two stations are located near Cristian commune, 12 kilometers away from the city of Sibiu. Each station has a shop area and a filling area, which is equipped with three pumps, offering four types of fuels. One of the pumps is high speed, for truck fuelling.

"The new mobile filling stations meet various needs of the clients, offering both fuels and a wide range of non-oil products. We hope that by the end of November, we will open the other eight filling stations on motorway service areas", said Adrian Nicolaescu, OMV Petrom retail manager.

OMV Petrom applied a new concept for the new motorway filling stations, according to RNCMNR requests. The new mobile filling stations are of modular, prefabricated type. They were transported and placed at the sites, without requiring additional construction and landscaping works.

The clients will be able to fuel with any of the 4 given types of fuels available in Petrom network: Standard gasoline, Extra 99 gasoline, Standard Diesel and Extra Diesel.
In July, OMV Petrom announced it won the tender for 10 filling stations to be placed in 5 different locations along the A1 and A2 highways, one per direction, as follows:

  • Nădlac-Arad highway(A1), km 26
  • Lugoj-Deva highway (A1), km 21
  • Orăştie-Sibiu highway (A1), km 20
  • Orăştie-Sibiu highway(A1), km 76
  • Medgidia-Constanţa highway (A2), km 186
