With an annual refining capacity of 4.5 mn tons/year of crude oil, Petrobrazi is one of the most important refineries in Romania.
At Petrobrazi, crude oil is processed and transformed into a wide range of high value petroleum products: from gasoline, diesel, LPG, to aviation fuel and other mineral oil products. Petrobrazi output can cover the necessary fuel for 3 mn cars / year.
Currently, Petrobrazi functions at the highest environmental and performance standards and can process the entire crude oil production of OMV Petrom in Romania.
The history of Petrobrazi refinery began in 1934 when Creditul Minier refinery was set up, with a refining capacity of 300,000 tons/year.
Almost completely destroyed in the Second World War, the refinery had been rebuilt and reconfigured throughout the years, reflecting market context and shareholders’ strategy.
Following the privatization, Petrobrazi refinery benefitted from over EUR 1.5 bn investments in modernization projects between 2005-2017.
