Approval by the National Securities Commission of the prospectus for the secondary public offer for the sale of  5,573,780,260 shares owned by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment (MECMA) via Office for the State Participations and Privatization in Industry (OPSPI)  

In accordance with the information received from the National Securities Commission (NSC),

OMV Petrom S.A. hereby announces that by Decision no.651 of July 6, 2011, the NSC has approved, based on the request submitted by the Brokerage Syndicate consisting of Renaissance Capital Limited, S.S.I.F. EFG Eurobank Securities S.A., S.S.I.F. B.T. Securities S.A. and S.S.I.F. Romcapital S.A., the prospectus drawn up by MECMA-OPSPI and the Brokerage Syndicate, for the sale of a number of 5,573,780,260 shares (representing a 9.84% stake) owned by MECMAOPSPI.
