The Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (OGMS) approved distribution of special dividends

  • Gross special dividend of 0.0450 lei/share
  • Approximately 530 million lei will be distributed to the Romanian state
  • Cumulated contribution from dividends to Romanian state of almost 1 billion lei in 2022

OMV Petrom announces that the OGMS held on July 26, 2022, approved the proposal of OMV Petrom Executive Board of distributing special dividends, based on the company’s solid financial position. The level of the gross special dividend is 0.0450 lei/share.

The total gross value of the special dividends to be distributed amounts to more than 2.5 billion lei. The payment of dividends is to be made starting September 2, 2022. Out of this amount, gross dividends of approximately 530 million lei will be distributed to the Romanian state, which holds 20.6% of the OMV Petrom S.A. share capital through the Ministry of Energy.

As a reminder, on April 27, the OGMS approved the distribution of base dividends with a total gross value amounting to 1.9 billion lei for the financial year 2021, with the payment starting in June.

Therefore, the total gross value of dividends distributed by OMV Petrom in 2022 amounts to 4.5 billion lei, out of which almost 1 billion to the Romanian state.

Since 2007, OMV Petrom has included corporate responsibility principles into its business strategy. Between 2007 and 2021, the company has allocated over 80 million euro to develop communities in Romania, focusing on environmental protection, education, health, and local development.

On July 29th, 2020, OMV Petrom announced its support for the recommendations issued by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) regarding risks and opportunities on climate change.
