OMV Petrom sponsors the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Ploiești

  •  OMV Petrom contributes with the amount of RON 250,000 for the purchase of specialized medical equipment for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Ploiești

OMV Petrom stands by the community of Ploiești and contributes with the amount of RON 250,000 for the purchase of specialized medical equipment for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Ploiești.

The sponsorship supports the purchase of 2 nebulizers for disinfection of air and surface microflora, 1 incubator for neonatal transportation, 3 syringe infusion pumps, 6 ICU beds, 3 neonatal phototherapy lamps for the neonatology sections, protection equipment. With such equipment, the healthcare professionals will be able to provide appropriate care to the persons needing medical assistance.

Each year, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Ploiești has over 10,000 patients and assists the birth of over 3,000 babies. 

“We are part of the community in Prahova and we believe that our role goes beyond the business objectives. We strive to support projects which are relevant and we are glad that we may support the maternity in Ploiești with the necessary equipment so that the smallest members of the community receive the medical care they need”, Adrian Nicolaescu, Administrative manager of Petrobrazi Refinery, stated.

“The donation made by OMV Petrom is an important aid in the Hospital’s fight against the coronavirus epidemics. Moreover, this donation shall ensure, in time, higher quality of the medical act, better care for all the patients who will come to the Hospital. The contributions of the private companies during this period represented a support both for the patients and for the healthcare professionals, the funds received were used to purchase both medical equipment and devices, and protection equipment, in order to ensure the safety of the medical act, to the extent possible. Thank you and we hope that this collaboration is only the beginning of complex projects, the beginning of a partnership which shall continue our relationship”, Dr. Boeru Calin, Medical Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Ploiești, stated.

OMV Petrom donated Euro 1,300,000 for the fight against COVID-19 in supporting the healthcare professionals from the first line medical units with 5000 visors, tests, medical equipment, medical consumables, masks, disinfectants, 24,000 VIVA Lunch Box food packages. Through Romanian Red Cross, we have supported the purchase of 10 iPonatic devices and testing kits for 10 public hospitals in Bucharest, Constanța, Dolj, Mehedinți, Prahova – Prahova County Hospital, Timiș, Suceava, Cluj, Brașov. Also, we support the initiatives for facilitating the access of the students from vulnerable groups in the rural communities to education.
