OMV Petrom, the largest energy company in Southeastern Europe, continues to support the healthcare professionals’ efforts in fighting the coronavirus pandemic, along with its main partner, Mastercard. During the next month, throughout the state of emergency period, five hospitals in Bucharest and Ploiesti will receive a total of 24,000 food packages of VIVA Lunch Box, supplied by the OMV filling stations.
The VIVA Lunch Box food packages will be delivered every day by foodpanda, with especially designated personnel for this initiative, in the following hospitals: Grigore Alexandrescu, Floreasca, Sfântul Ioan, Colentina and Prahova County Hospital. The packages will be picked up from the OMV branded filling stations situated near the five hospitals.
The VIVA Lunch Boxes will be distributed out of the OMV filling stations in strict compliance of the hygiene norms regarding food safety and the safety measures recommended by the Ministry of Health, in heat resistant bags. Each package will contain a sandwich, a 500 ml bottle of still water, an apple and dessert.
“We believe it is important for all of us to mobilize individuals, companies, authorities, so that we overcome together the difficult situation generated by COVID-19. These days, the healthcare system needs our support and we continue to get involved. I thank my colleagues in the filling stations who volunteered for this project” said George Daniel Ion, Retail Manager OMV Petrom.
“We are going through an unprecedented situation, when acting responsibly means becoming part of the solution and joining efforts to build initiatives that can provide the needed help. The medical staff are the heroes fighting in the first line to bring our world back to normal and we felt it was our duty to support their efforts”, said Cosmin Vladimirescu, Country Manager Mastercard Romania and Croatia.
In addition, Mastercard will launch a new initiative to promote contactless payments at OMV filling stations. Card or mobile contactless payments ensure a superior level of safety and security, and, at the same time, can help protect the employees’ and customers’ health.
With the help of Romanian Red Cross, OMV Petrom contributed to the equipping of 10 hospitals with iPonatic devices and testing kits for rapid diagnosis of COVID-19.
In addition, through local actions, 7 hospitals in Bucharest and Ploiesti received coffee machines, Viva coffee, biscuits and water.
