Changes in the Supervisory Board

Rainer Seele has been appointed as an interim member and President of the Supervisory Board, following Gerhard Roiss’s waiver of his mandate as a member and President of the OMV Petrom Supervisory Board.

In accordance with art. 17.4 of OMV Petrom S.A.’s Articles of Association, Rainer Seele has been appointed as an interim member and President of the Supervisory Board effective July 7, 2015 until the next General Meeting of Shareholders.

Rainer Seele (54) is the Chairman of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer of OMV Aktiengesellschaft as of July 1, 2015. He has extensive experience in the international oil and gas industry. After his studies at the University of Göttingen, where he obtained a doctorate in Chemistry, Mr. Seele joined BASF Aktiengesellschaft, initially as a research scientist. After working in a number of different functions between 1987 and 1996, Mr. Seele was appointed as Head of Group Chemical Research and Head of Planning and Controlling at BASF Aktiengesellschaft. In 1996 he became Head of Strategic Planning at Wintershall AG in Kassel, and in 2000 he became a member of the Executive Board at WINGAS as Head of Sales and Trading. In 2002, Mr. Seele was also appointed Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of WINGAS GmbH. He became Chairman of the Wintershall Board in 2009. Rainer Seele is a German citizen and is married with three adult children.
