Petrom, the largest oil and gas producer in Southeastern Europe, announces testing completion at Brazi power plant and beginning of commercial operations. Starting August 1, 2012, the plant can deliver on commercial basis electricity to the national grid, depending on power market and prevailing regulatory environment in Romania.

With a capacity of 860 MW and over EUR 500 mn investments, the Brazi power plant is the largest private power generation greenfield project in Romania in the last 20 years. Operated at maximum capacity, the power plant could cover 8-9% of the electricity market.
